RE: K & N Filter for Kodiak 5500 Duramax

Have you check the filter in the Kodiak. 7.5" diameter X 18" long. Lot larger than the pickup filters. If you want to get something from K&N get a Filter Minder if your Kodiak does not have one.
K&N does not list a filter for 2007 & 8. 2006 part # is 77-3064KTK
Air intake on Kodiak is from passenger side of hood on the outside.

RE: Shocks....Bilstein or Koni

Lots of discussions on Kodiak suspension upgrades. Here is a recent thread on a owner that switched to Koni. Getting Koni FSD Shocks Right Now! The W22 chassis is very similar to the Kodiak.
I have Bilstiens. They work very well with my 34' Kodiak. One of the suspension vendors at a recent rally I attended. Said that Bilstiens are OK for leaf spring applications. Recommended the Koni's for air suspension.

RE: Automatic Generator

Yes that's the correct model. Thanks for the link. If I had googled for "onan energy command" instead of "onan ec-30" I would have had better luck:o. Looks like I will have to get to a dealer though to get the correct wiring harness and the optional transformer to start the genny after a power failure.
I believe you can get just as good a system with the Magnum or Ridgecreek AGS systems linked above. They will include all the wiring and instructions to install either one of them.
PS. I used onan ec-30 to find the site. It was 3 or 4 pages back.

RE: Cedar clost in Carriage smells awful

The smell maybe coming from behind the closet. Are these closets in the front cap?. You may need to remove a rear or bottom panel to find where smell is coming from.

RE: I hate our dinette!

We tore out our dinette and installed a table and chair that has a cabinet along the wall. Here is a link to a thread with pictures and other mods. Furniture Changes
Purchased most of the items for the mods from surplus stores in the Elkhart, IN. area.

RE: Automatic Generator

There are a couple of add on Generator Auto starts. Here is a thread on the subject. Add generator auto start capability.
I purchased the Ridgecreek AGS. This model does not have a time set. Easy install next to manual start panel in MH.

RE: Tow Dolly alignment problem

It not the "alignment" that is off, but the position of the "centering" pin bracket. With the pin in (the one you use when towing empty) check the distance between the tires, you have to loosen the bolts holding the bracket, and center it. This should NOT affect the alignment wich makes the tires track on turns.
Mine tows off when car is attached and pin is removed. Bracket has no affect when being used this way. :?

RE: Tow Dolly alignment problem

My dolly does almost the same thing but not as bad. I think you will need to adjust the 4 bars that angle from deck to tongue. If no one gives you a good answer here. Give Demco a call (1-800-543-3626). They should have a answer to this adjustment. Would like to fix mine if you find the answer.

I have this mount and antenna from CW. Works OK for a NGP antenna. Look like the same mount the Firestick offers.

RE: fuel cap on Kodiak MH.

Yes, this is common. I talked to another owner that claimed his tanks was collapsing as fuel was used from tank. I have not noticed this on mine. Make sure there is not a kink in the fuel fill hose to tank.

RE: from TO to TX

Depending on weather. We head south (I-75) until we find temperatures above freezing during the day. This year it was Knoxville, TN. Last year we got to Cincinnati, OH. Temperatures were is the mid 40's when we arrived at Bowling Green, KY. Then took shortest route from each place heading to TX.

RE: Ruined 3 Flying J Pumps Today

I have stopped going to FJ. The service at most is poor and no more discount.
Waiting in the pay line before and after filling gets old fast.

If you belong to FMCA the discount has been reinstated. Maybe other clubs also.

RE: Ruined 3 Flying J Pumps Today

Next time try:
First the credit card.
Then the "loyalty card" when the display asks for it.
Found out the hard way this is the way it works at both the RV pumps and the truck pumps at least in Texas and Oklahoma.
Joe
That's the way it's always worked for me at Flying J's.

RE: Second Waterpump Switch

Just got done with adding a second switch to the water pump. I like things simple. Main switch is near the bathroom. But outside shower does not have a switch. Never remember to turn on water so I can wash hands after dumping tanks. Added a second switch to outside shower box. I was lucky. The fused feed for pump runs just under outside shower box. Wired up both switches and lights parallel. When either switch is turned on, light on both inside and outside switches come on. Got a switch off EBay.
